Dr. Ryser received her Bachelor ​of Arts degree in psychology and Spanish from Austin College in 1995, and her Master of Arts degree in clinical and counseling psychology from Southern Methodist University in 1998. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in clinical psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2002, completing her post-doctoral training in clinical psychology in a geriatric setting. Throughout her professional training career, Dr. Ryser has worked in a variety of environments, including outpatient psychotherapy clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, hospital emergency room, primary care clinics, the school system, the juvenile justice system, inpatient geriatric units/homes, and on neuropsychology consultation service. Her clinical practice has remained equally diverse, with training/work in the areas of adult assessment and psychotherapy (individual, family, and group), child/adolescent assessment (for learning disabilities and emotional disturbance) and psychotherapy, as well as health psychology, pain management, women's issues, geropsychology, neuropsychology, forensics, crisis intervention, and telepsychology. She has also conducted research in the areas of childhood illness, juvenile offenders, cultural issues relative to mental health, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Ryser participates in several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the Texas Psychological Association.  

 

Dr. Ryser holds a current license to practice psychology in the State of Texas, which was originally issued in March of 2004, by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (License No. 32379).  This license may be verified by visiting vo.licensing.hpc.texas.gov.  From there, click on "Public Search" - "Search by License Number" (or alternately, "Search by Name" - just be sure to click "Search by Individual" before typing in/submitting the name).  (If searching by license number, please be sure to view the second page of listings.)  A copy/image of the Board's complaint notice is available for viewing below). 

 

Dr. Ryser is also licensed in the State of New York, by the New York State Education Department (License No. 023994).  This license may be verified by visiting op.nysed.gov.  From there, click on "Verifications" - "Online Verification Service," where you can search by name or license number.  (Choose “Psychologist” in the Profession field.)  A copy/image of Dr. Ryser's current New York "Registration Certificate" is available for viewing below).   

 

Additionally, Dr. Ryser has been granted an "Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology," or APIT (Mobility Number 4902), by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB)/PSYPACT Commission.  This allows the practice of telepsychology with individuals residing in all PSYPACT Participating States, currently including:  Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming as well as the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.  (NOTE:  South Dakota and Vermont are slated to be added to this list effective 7-1-24.)  This certificate may be verified by visiting www.verifyPSYPACT.org.  From there, search by “All Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology Holders,” typing “Christina Ryser” in the “Search” field.  

 

Finally, Dr. Ryser holds a "telehealth provider registration" (Registration No. TPPY196) with the State of Florida, allowing practice as an out-of-state telehealth provider with individuals residing in the State of Florida.
